The Bavarian guitar duo Gruber & Maklar is on Canada tour this week (from January 28th till February 7th). Master classes as well as concerts are programmed throughout various regions of Ontario and Québec.
The first concert took place January 29th in St Catharines, Ontario, the second one in Québec two days later. The tour leads the internationally renowned duo over Sherbrooke to Montréal. At every stop, they offer master classes to guitar students.
Founded in 1985, the guitar duo Christian Gruber and Peter Maklar accumulated 25 years of a particularly rich experience. It is acclaimed as one of the finest guitar duos in the world, famous for their extraordinary musicality, their "specacular technique [and their] outstanding ensemble playing" (Guitar Review).
Their repertoire includes pure Spanish music as much as contemporary works, of which several have been composed for them or dedicated to their duo.
