In this new decade of Bavaria-Quebec cooperation, Bavarian Minister-President Horst Seehofer wishes to underline the remarkable friendship that bonds the two provinces at a meeting with Premier Jean Charest in Montreal as he travels to the Vancouver Olympic Games
On Thursday, February 18th, Bavarian MP Horst Seehofer will visit Montréal and will be greeted by Premier Charest at a festive dinner. On this occasion the top managers of Bavarian companies in Québec have been invited to join the two chiefs of state to celebrate the excellent cooperation and to honor the deep bond between both regions.
The day after, Bavarian MP Horst Seehofer will continue to Vancouver, where he will not only morally support the Bavarian athletes, but also campaign for Munich as host city for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
During the Vancouver Olympics the Tourism Office of Bavaria's capital Munich, together with the Bavarian Tourism Marketing cooperation, the Tourism Alliance of Munich and Upper Bavaria, the municipalities Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Ruhpolding, and Innzell, as well as the district of Berchtesgaden, are promoting Bavaria together as a winter travel destination, under the theme "Bavarian Winter Stars – Come And See The Original". A press reception in the German House in Vancouver and a press journey will inform tourism journalists from North America and Europe about Bavaria as a leisure destination. At the Whistler venue, together with the German Olympic Sports Confederation and the German broadcast stations ARD and ZDF, the city of Munich will be greeting the Olympic athletes along with sports commentators and tourism journalists.
