University cooperation
Bavarian and Quebec universities already cooperate and offer courses that include one semester abroad in the partner institution:
- Laval and Passau universities
- Erlangen–Nürnberg and Concordia University
Please note that this is not a complete list of all university collaborations, and that exchanges may also take place outside of existing partnership programs. Ask your university’s International Office for more information.
Student exchange program
The student exchange program offered by CREPUQ offers an opportunity to study in Bavaria for one semester. This program is admissible at many Quebec universities. A framework agreement is under discussion between CREPUQ and Bavarian universities in order to facilitate student exchanges.
Second or third language assistants (in Europe)
Within Bavaria-Quebec cooperation on educational issues, an exchange program for second or third language instructors is addressed to Quebec students who want to work abroad, but also to Quebec schools that want to hire a language instructor. The program is managed by the Quebec Department of Education (Ministère de l'Éducation, des Loisirs et du Sport, MELS), whose website provides further information about several other potential exchange programs.

Financing
Each year, Quebec offers two scholarships in order to strengthen and foster bonds and exchanges in educational matters between Quebec and Bavaria universities. Applications for the Bavaria-Quebec Scholarship have to be made with the Quebec Department of Education. Further information may be obtained regarding other scholarships.
Some universities have their own financing programs: students at the U of A are advised to visit http://www.international.ualberta.ca/goabroad/funding.cfm to know more.
Trips abroad and internships as part of one's studies may be eligible for scholarships offered by the DAAD (Deutscher akademischer Austauschdienst – German Academic Exchanges Service). The website offers undergraduate and graduate students information about available scholarships, as well as a vast database of international studies.
