Bavaria visit

Bavaria lies at the heart of Europe. Contiguous to Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic, the Land is located in the south-east of Germany beneath the Alps. It is not only the biggest Land (over 70,000 km² surface) but also the most attractive tourist destination of all 16 German Länder.

Bavaria has one of the world's most famous and most visited castles: Neuschwanstein, which welcomes 1.3 million visitors annually. Bavaria also welcomes over 20 million tourists each year thanks to many events, such as:

• Passion Play in Oberammergau (once every 10 years)

These events partly account for Bavaria's worldwide reputation. There are also several popular tourist roads, such as the Romantic Road, the Castle Road and the German Alps Road, as well as the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain, and a wide variety of beautiful landscapes.
